This last week, I was lucky enough to find a great deal to drive a Lamborghini! I am a big believer in being positive about everything in life and making the most of bad situations. I think our attitude has a huge impact on how successful we are and how happy we are. Part of being positive and happy is finding new and exciting things to do in life. I am always on the lookout for great deals in real estate and exciting things to do in my personal life as well. One of the most exciting things I have done lately was drive a Lamborghini!

Why I love Lamborghinis
I have mentioned this in a few other posts, but if you did not know, I love cars. In particular I love low, fast, exotic super cars like Lamborghinis. The problem with a Lamborghini, besides the 6 figure price tag (even for a used Lambo) is the cost to maintain them. Part of the reason they are so expensive is because Lamborghini uses the most expensive, high-tech materials available in their cars. If one of those high-tech parts breaks, you could probably buy an economy car for less than it will cost to repair the Lamborghini. I still want to own a Lamborghini one day as it is one of my goals, but that day is probably a long way into the future because of the cost involved. However, that doesn’t mean I have to wait to experience a 520 horse power V-10 roaring behind me as I drive through some Colorado canyons.
I found this Lamborghini drive deal on TravelZoo
TravelZoo.com sends me deals in my email for vacations and specials at resorts and restaurants. About a month ago they sent me a special for a Lamborghini drive in Denver. I could take a Gallardo for a 25 minute drive for $89, which is normally $250. It took me about 3 minutes to sign up, pay for the deal, post it to Facebook and then email the deal to my friends. I have never driven anything like a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, etc. and I figured it was about time I did. I set my appointment up last week and I drove the Lamborghini yesterday morning!
Although at the time I wrote this article, I had never driven a Lamborghini, I now own one!
The Lamborghini Drive
I arrived at Mile High Drives, and they looked at my insurance and license out to make sure I could pay for the Lamborghini if I happened to wreck it. Then they gave me a quick briefing on how the E gear transmission worked and we were off! Their technician told me all about their cars and which ones he liked and which ones were a giant pain. Mile High Drives has a couple of Ferraris, a couple of Lamborghinis, a Porsche, Corvette, Acura NSX, Nissan GTR and a BMW M5. My favorite car was a 2001 Lamborghini Diablo, but that one was not on special and a lot more expensive to drive.
We took the Lamborghini out and they stressed the importance of using both people to look when turning or switching lanes because the car is so hard to see out of. They also showed me exactly how to go over a 3 inch dip to get out of the parking lot so I did not damage the bottom of the car. I managed not to bottom out and we were off! That v-10 sounded awesome right behind my head, and the car was a blast to drive. I have an Audi S4 which is a pretty quick car, but the Lambo is a fast car and I could tell it would be much happier going about 150 mph then 60 mph. We drove through some canyons just west of Denver in Golden Colorado and managed to see 6 police cars stopped on the side of the road during the trip. I didn’t get to get on it much in the canyon, but we did have an open stretch of highway coming out of the canyons with no cars in sight. I’ve never had so much fun staying well within the speed limits.
I had to bring the car back way too soon, and my wife and kids were waiting for me when we got back. My wife drove up separately with the kids so they could see the cars and they had a few errands to run in the area. I got a bunch of pictures with the kids and the cars and in every picture the kids are looking at the cars and not the camera! It was a great time and well worth every penny. I just saw another special on Travelzoo to drive a Ferrari around a race track for $99. I bought that one as well and will be scheduling it soon.
I have no doubt this drive helped me eventually buy a Lamborghini of my own.
