I was successful before I focused on changing my attitude and mindset. I was a successful real estate agent and investor. However, being successful and happy are not the same thing. Although I was making good money, I was pretty stressed about money and life. It seems like the more money you make, the more bills you have, and the more stress you have as well. When you are making a lot of money, you also feel like you are wasting it if you don’t have much to show for it. When I changed my attitude, my mindset, and started working on myself more than my business, things changed in a big way. I made more money, had more time, was happier and stopped stressing as much. Making more money helped with the stress, but the biggest change was the way I thought about money, being thankful for what I had, and knowing even if I lost every penny I would be just fine. I changed a lot of things in my life to make these changes. I started a daily routine, I meditate, I write in a journal, I force myself to try new and exciting things, I get coaching, and much more. Why does mindset and attitude make such an impact on success?
When I was younger I did not partake in any self-help books, CD’s or seminars. I thought I could do everything on my own and was smart enough not to need any help, especially self-help. I got wiser as I got older and learned it is much easier to be successful when you learn from others and when you have the right attitude. I studied many of the most successful people in the world and most successful people I knew. They all seemed to follow the same routines, have the same attitude, and same mindset. They take time to work on themselves before they work on their business. The better your attitude is, the more successful you will be.
When I focus on myself first, everything else seems to fall into place. When I focus on my business first because I am too busy to meditate or do my daily routine, things never go as well. I get more stressed, I worry about money more, I have less time, and things always seem to go wrong when I forget to take care of myself first. When I don’t focus on goals, on the future, on the big picture items, things don’t go as well either. The best way for me to keep my mind right is a daily routine that reminds me of what is important. The daily routine reduces stress, reminds me of my goals, reminds me of how awesome things are, and keeps me on track.

Why is it hard for most people to have the right attitude for success?
Many people know that being happier, having goals, and planning your life will make you more successful. Even though many people know this, most people do not do it. Most people never follow through with the New Year’s resolutions, goals, or plans. They get busy in life and other things seem more important than planning or goal setting. The trick to success is creating habits for the right attitude everyday, not just a couple of times a year. It is hard to work on yourself when you have a job and family! In the end if you can create habits and take time for yourself, it will make you more successful and give you more time with your family. It is hard for me to always have the right attitude and take time for myself, but when I get off base and stop doing my daily routine or meditating, my business almost always suffers.

What does having a great attitude and mindset mean?
Many of us think we have a great attitude, but in the end we are sabotaging ourselves. Here are a few things that can cause people to have a bad attitude towards life or wealth.
- Constantly criticizing others
- Being jealous of others wealth or happiness
- Pretending you don’t want things, because you don’t believe you can have them
- Assuming things will always go against you
- Thinking any coaching program is a rip-off
- Refusing to spend money on your own education or business
- Thinking working non-stop will equal success
- Refusing to focus on one idea or business
A person with a great attitude does not worry about what others think of them, or worry about other people’s lives more than their own. Even if you have a family, the happier you are, the happier your family will be. A successful person is willing to spend money to make more money. My rentals were expensive, my coaching with Jack Canfield was expensive, but they made me so much more money than they cost. You have to be willing to invest time and money into yourself if you want to be successful. You also have to be positive that you will be successful. Maybe not today, tomorrow, next week, or next month, but success will come.
